Exegetical guide to the Greek New Testament: 1 Peter
The book opens with a good discussion of the world behind the text. It is not too in-depth but longer than what one might read in Raymond Brown's New Testament tome.so it is a nice introduction for a person interested in knowing more about First Peter, but who is not ready to study the ancient world too deeply, yet. The author provides a very clear outline of the text and then does a line by line exegetical study of the Greek meaning with translation into English. In reading and studying this book, it helps if one can pronounce the Greek spelling of words. From there the author does a nice job of explaining the types of grammar used in phrases. He explains why he thinks a word or phrase should be translated in a certain way as well as how others with differing opinions..
