Biblical Christianity
Biblical Christianity is a heavily abridged version of John Calvin's Institutes Of The Christian Religion. The Institutes could be considered a Systematic Theology of sorts, though that term was not yet used in Mr.Calvin's day.The Institutes started out as a summary of 'The Christian Faith' written for the King of France.Calvin begins his Institutes by seeking to convey something of the importance of knowing God.Even those who have had little exposure to the Bible desire to understand themselves and the world in which they live.To understand who we are,we must know something of the being who created us,and what he thinks of us.To come to this kind of knowledge it is necessary to search the Scriptures,in which God reveals who He is and what state we awe in,in the light of His Word.Calvin insists that something that is essential if one is to come to know God,one must come to realize that-"...we have no wisdom, righteousness, power or truth except from Him."
