The root of the thing: a study of Job and the Song of songs
In this book the authoe presents a view of Biblical literature and the human psyche that considers Job and the Canticles not only as commentary on life but as essentially dramatic in structure. He also shows that in both books dramatic speech heightens each speaker's expressiveness by placing his words within the interactuions of an imagined role in an imagined scene.
