imothy Jones' book on the Art of Prayer gently and authoritatively leads readers into the practice of praying and experiencing the presence and voice of God. Jones approaches prayer from about all the angles I can imagine...in desperation, in quiet stillness, like a child, like the psalmist, etc. He combines his guidance with myriad resources from Scripture to the Desert Fathers to contemporary friends and resources. He adds personal anecdotes here and there as well. Overall, I believe this is an excellent book to help readers develop and nurture their prayer life. It is a valuable resource for small groups to go through together and discuss and practice. Additionally, this book is appropriate for readers from all faith traditions.
