Interesting and plausible reconstruction of early Christian communities nm in Antioch and Rome by two articulate and widely respected Catholic scholars. Doesn't exactly support some traditional views of early church history. Suggests second century antecedents for 4th century developments.. Another very solid piece of historico-theological analysis by that tremendous teacher, Fr. raymond Brown. I can recommend this volume to anyone interested in early Church history and the intramural fueding between the Jewish Christ followers and the Gentile Christians and how it led to the tragedy under Nero in 64 CE..
