First Peter: an expositional commentary
Hiebert takes the reader through 1 Peter with just the right amount of technical depth, and evaluation of the factors impacting interpretation. Hiebert's preliminary considerations of date, purpose, readership, etc. are sufficient, and helpful but not overdone. Greek is shown transliterated (not using the Greek alphabet). He does not appear to skip over or whisk past any of the text, so he covers the entire text of 1 Peter throughly. Heibert's commentary is not for the beginner, but will be a very good resource for intermediate to pastoral level study of this most excellent book by the apostle Peter.
