The book of Genesis: an introduction to biblical world
The book of Genesis reads as one continuos narrative-but almost from the outset we observe that two separate strands are involved. First, there is the creation of the world in general, and with it the inception of mankind, and then, a detailed genealogy and history of a number of persons, the ancestors of the People of Israel. The story is therefore one of 'beginnings'-the beginning of the physical world.
