Classic baptism: baptism: an inquiry into the meaning.....
Haven't yet received it, but already have his "Johannic Baptism" and "Christic and Patristic Baptism" and the little book "The Cup And The Cross: Or, The Baptism of Calvary, 'One Baptism,'" all very scholarly and deep. Everyone supposes to know what "baptize/baptism" means but it is a word that has not been interpreted in most Bibles; the Greek word has become a part of the text of most Bibles without translating it. Many associate it with H2O, but John Baptist was already trivializing H2O in scripture, saying that The One coming after him would Baptize with Holy Spirit (1 Jn 5:6, "The Spirit is The Truth";- 'is' means 'equals.'). Am stumped by one archaic word that seems to have no dictionary or online definition, so hope that this Book will contain the key to helping me understand it. If you want to dig deep and get beyond a surface understanding of The Word, get the little book above and read it several times. You won't be disappointed.
