Walvoord: a tribute
This book is a tribute to the late John F. Walvoord, who was one of the greatest Dispensational theologians of the 20th century. There is a brief biographical sketch by Donald Campbell, but the rest contains doctrinal essays that highlight the pinnacles of Dispensational theology. The best chapter is by Charles C. Ryrie, on contrasting views of sanctification. A couple of other chapters that standout are by Robert Lightner, who writes on the extent of the atonement, and on the clarity of the gospel message by Thomas Constable. Many of the articles are quite academic and scholarly, but Ryrie's was the best because it combines scholarship and accessibility to the every day reader.
