Within what is loosely called Protestantism there are three views concerning the divine design of the atonement in relatiin to the salvation of men. They may be denominated unrestricted unversalism, inconsistent universalism, and particularism.
It is unpopular for the same reason that make the Reformed doctrine of salvation unpopular in all its parts.
