Theologia: the fragmentation and unity of theological education
Edward Farley's critique of theological education raises critical issues in novel ways. Farley investigates the malaise of current patterns in clergy education by looking past the symptoms to causes rooted in history. Theological study has moved from an initial grounding in theologia - sapiential knowledge, belief-ful understanding rooted in faith in God - to its present dispersal into independent disciplines pertinent to ministerial practice, the clerical paradigm.
