In the company of others: a dialogical Christology
In order to become more faithful disciples, Christians need the insights of persons who profess distinctly different religious commitments. too often, however, most Christians act as if the opposite were the case. For many contemporary church-goers, dialogue appears more as a peripheral than a central concern. Conversation with the religious other, according to this common perspective, dilutes Christian commitments rather than affirms them; it represents the gradual withering away of the Christian worldview; its monotheism and ethical stance in the search for an elusive least common religious denominator..
