George Pidoux commences his treatment of the coming of God in the Old Testament with the affirmation that faith of the Old Testament rests on two certainties, equally profound and indissolubly bound together. The first is that God has come in the past and that he has intervened in favour of his people. The other is the hope that God will come anew in the future.
