We live in a time of homiletical famine, a drought of the preaching and the hearing of God's word. Hence the conviction that we must be less busy doing and less noisy talking in order to become better hearers of the word. Yet we will not become gospel listeners unless we have preachers who believe that their first and last call is to proclaim what eye has paralleled good news prepared by God for those who love Him..
